What are the dangers of smoking and *** augmentation surgery?

I have just read an article about *** augmentation http://www.healthlife.com/resources/articles/?1124-Breast_Augmentation_Report which has reassured me quite a bit. You see, my daughter who is in her late twenties and therefore knows her own mind, wants to have her breasts enlarged and I was very worried about it. I now feel a lot easier in my mind, however, she smokes and I notice that it is recommended that a smoker ceases for several days before and after the operation. Can anyone tell me what are the dangers if she doesn't stop smoking?

This is a typical caution giving to just about anyone undergoing general anasthesia.  It can be very hard on your respiratory system especially if you are a smoker.  This is one reason they may tell you to not smoke close to the surgery.  Another is the effect that smoking causes by raising the blood pressure.  If your blood pressure is higher when undergoing surgery, you can lose more blood than you should which can be dangerous in and of itself.

I am not sure that there is any procedure that is not effected in some way if one smokes.  There are so many dangers associated with smoking that you think that people would finally figure out and accept that smoking is a slow way of killing oneself and then would stop!

It sounds like a very involved way to stop yourself smoking! I'd be very squeamish about having surgery like this but if I was going to do it and I though that it would be dangerous unless I quit smoking, I'm convinced that I would.
