    Vegetables, fresh or frozen?

I have been having a little argument with my friend who buys fresh vegetables all the time. I buy frozen and I think that frozen is better because fresh deteriorate from the time they are picked, whereas frozen vegetables retain all their vitamins. What does anyone else think?

Unless you grow your own and use them straight from the garden it's frozen every time! I cannot get to the store every day so if I bought fresh they would be a soggy mess before I could use them all. I can store frozen and be sure that they are as fresh as when they were picked when I use them.

Well I am so glad that someone agrees! I grow my own tomatoes and they taste really lovely as soon as they are picked, however they do deteriorate quickly. Those that you buy fresh in supermatkets are treated with chemicals to make them last longer. This is another reason to choose tinned (as in tomatoes) or frozen rather than shop-bought fresh.
