    Positive Self Affirmations

I was part of a business years ago that was really big on keeping 3 positive self affirmations written on a business card with you at all times.  I have done this and it is great, just write what you want to be on the card and read it three times a day outloud.  You should check it out, it is amazing how empowering this can be if done every day!

Great idea! Thanks! I've done something like this before where I taped something on my bathroom mirror that was inspirational for me to read every morning. I'd change it out every so often to keep it fresh.

I usually stick to 'treat others as you would have them treat you' which is always good. Also, never say 'no' to something you would like to do, and never say 'yesy' to something you wouldnt like to do. it makes so many things so much easier - rather than saying yes to something you dont want to do and putting it off, letting it nag you and getting you down, just say no to it. problem solved.

I call it self-hypnosis. Positive self-affirmation enables me to cut through the lines of resistance and perform things that I might at first seem impossible.

Start positive affirmation and you'll see tremendous change that will take place in your relationships with people and your attitutuce toward yourself. You would probably wonder why you didn't do this a long time ago.

I have heard of doing this and I have never really tried it out before, but maybe it is time.  I can see how saying positive things about yourself could make you feel good.  It reminds me of the quote "Fake It Until You Make It" right?

Positive affirmations help me boost my mood and self confidence and help shift my self talk from negative criticism to positive encouragement. I write them down, think them in my mind and sometimes say them aloud and these affirmations always encourage me into action.

There are enough books written about this to make me want to give it a go. It is really self hypnotism isn't it, or brainwashing? If you tell yourself something is true often enough you will ultimately believe it. So just make sure that what you tell yourself is really what you want to believe!

I've read somewhere that self-hypnotism can be use by a person to stay on diet, overcome smoking or some other addiction or to boost self-esteem, attract love, attract wealth, etc. Also, if you find yourself constantly procrastinating about getting what you want then self-hypnotism can help you improve your life.

I have started using this. I have a really bad body image though others say I look great so I spend an hour looking at myself in the mirror and telling myself all the good things about my body that other people have pointed out. I don't know if it's working but I do sort of feel good afterwards.

That's good to know Row27. After reading about self-hypnosis, I've tried it myself and I'm getting best results. Now, I wake up in the morning, jump out of bed and exclaim "Today would be great" or "I feel great." I've realized that every positive things we tell ourself are important because they are accepted by our concious mind.
